Juliana Blau runs her eponymous gallery as a launching pad for young, primarily Brazilian artists. After opening her space in 2013, she’s organized a number of standout solo shows fostering discussion about contemporary life and arts. The gallery focuses on artists whose researches can have the most diverse and hybrid output. In this sense, Blau Projects wants to be a free territory for experimentation and other challenges in the increasingly fascinating world of contemporary art.
Focusing on the international scene, the gallery aims to hold exhibitions of artists from around the world, building partnerships with galleries, promoting exchanges with institutions and participating in art fairs. In that sense the gallery has already showed at fairs, collaborated with exhibitions and partnered with galleries in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, England, Germany, Japan, Peru, Portugal, Spain, United Arab Emirates and the United States. The main and short-term focus of the gallery is to promote its artists and consolidate their careers in South and North Americas.
The gallery also produces independent projects to its program of regular visual arts exhibitions, the C.LAB, currently in its forthedition, which aims to encourage and stimulate reflection and debate on contemporary art offering the public new ways of approaches and experiences. This project funds and provides the structure of the gallery for the production of selected projects, giving young curators and artists opportunity for professional development in the visual arts.
Blau Projects is a member of ABACT - Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art since early 2014. The gallery is a member and participates at the international program of Brazilian contemporary galleries, Latitude.
